My research interests encompass fisheries science, biodiversity conservation, amphibian genetics, and sea snake diversity, contributing to the understanding and conservation of Bangladesh’s rich biological resources. This recognition is not only a personal accomplishment but also a proud moment for Jamalpur Science and Technology University, highlighting the institution’s growing commitment to research excellence and academic development. My achievement will inspire young researchers, faculty members, and students to pursue innovative ideas and impactful scientific investigations. Attending the 1st World Congress on Snake in Kandy, Sri Lanka, was a remarkable academic and professional experience that provided an excellent opportunity to connect with leading herpetologists, wildlife researchers, conservationists, and experts from around the world. The congress served as an important international platform for sharing scientific knowledge, discussing recent advances in snake biology, taxonomy, ecology, genetics, venom research, and conservation, and exploring collaborative opportunities for future research. Participating in this prestigious scientific gathering was particularly valuable for strengthening my understanding of snake diversity and the importance of conserving these ecologically significant yet frequently misunderstood reptiles. The scientific presentations and discussions highlighted the need for integrative approaches combining morphological identification, molecular genetics, ecological assessments, and advanced taxonomic methods to understand snake diversity more comprehensively. The congress also emphasized the importance of evidence-based conservation strategies, habitat protection, public awareness, and responsible human–snake coexistence. As a researcher from Bangladesh, this international experience was especially meaningful in the context of documenting the country’s underexplored reptile diversity, particularly sea snakes and other poorly studied snake groups. Bangladesh possesses diverse terrestrial, freshwater, and coastal ecosystems that support a rich but incompletely documented herpetofauna. The knowledge and perspectives gained from the congress will contribute to advancing my research interests in snake taxonomy, molecular genetics, biodiversity assessment, and conservation. Furthermore, interactions with international scientists offered valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, establish professional connections, and explore potential collaborations for future scientific publications and research projects.
